Sustavi koji elektri?nu energiju proizvode iz energije vjetra na velikim visinama nisu vie novost, a jedna od kompanija koje ih proizvode je i njema?ka kompanija EnerKite. EnerKite je razvio sustav EK 30, koji je postavljen na kamion, to ga ?ini lakim za transportiranje. Maksimalna snaga prototipa je 30 kW, a najbolje rezultate postie na visinama od 100 do 300 metara, pri brzini vjetra od 9 do 12 m/s. Za rad sustav koristi krilo sli?no kite-u, ?ija povrina moe biti od 15 do 21 m2, a teina od 5 do 10 kg. Ukupna masa cijelog sustava s vozilom iznosi 12 tona.
Kao i kod svih ovakvih sustava, krilo je kabelom spojeno s generatorom koji se nalazi na tlu, odnosno na vozilu. Generator proizvodi elektri?nu energiju koja se pohranjuje u bateriji snage 600 V, 84 Ah. Godinje ovaj sustav moe raditi oko 4000 ekvivalent sati, ?ime mu u?inkovitost iznosi oko 80%. EnerKite-ov EK30 namijenjen je developerima i istraiva?kim institucijama za daljnja ispitivanja i mjerenja, ali ga je mogu?e upotrebljavati i za razne doga?aje koji su na otvorenom kada elektri?na energija nije lako dostupna, isti?e Alxender Bormann, glavni izvrni direktor EnerKite-a. Daljnji planovi ove kompanije uklju?uju pronalazak partnera za irenje na europskom, ameri?kom i azijskom tritu. Prvi komercijalni sustav, EK200 planiran je za 2015. godinu, a uz to kompanija razvija i sustav EK1M, snage 500 kW koji bi trebao proizvoditi oko 2.2 GWh elektri?ne energije godinje.
